Rock Paper Scissors: A Neighborhood Craft Store is a great new shop in Montclair where you will find some Plum Artists showing their work, teaching workshops, and, of course, shopping! The store’s owner, Beth Rowan, has put together a wonderful selection of fabrics, decorative papers, beads, and supplies. The store also has a dedicated workshop space, with sewing machines and other equipment. The shop is currently featuring Anne’s jewelry and Stefanie’s artwork and handmade cards, and in the near future, Miram, Anne, and Maria will be teaching workshops.

The store is having its Grand Opening party on Saturday, June 12, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with cherry pie, raffles, hand-on activities, and more. Sounds like fun! Hope to see you there.

You’ll find Plum Artists Keira Boertzel-Smith, Miriam Jacobs, Maria Papale, and Stefanie Silverman at a booth at the Montclair Cooperative School’s Forest Street Festival on Saturday, June 5, from 9 to 6. The festival will be located on the corner of Forest and Chestnut Streets, around the block from the Farmer’s Market. In addition to our fine art, note cards, wallpaper creations, neckties, and other goods, you’ll find flea market and craft vendors, food and beverages, and live music. Raindate is June 12. Paintings in Pastel at The Peck School

An exhibit of pastel paintings featuring still lifes and landscapes by Maria Papale and Stefanie Silverman is on display at The Peck School in Morristown throughout the month of April. Maria and Stefanie are excited to have their artwork grace the walls of the beautiful Lindenwold Mansion of the private school and to share their artwork with the staff, parents, and students there. Pastel Society of New Jersey Juried Show

Maria Papale and Stefanie Silverman are honored to each have a painting in the Pastel Society of New Jersey’s Annual Juried Exhibition. The show runs through November 27 at Crane’s Mill Town Square Gallery, 459 Passaic Avenue, West Caldwell. Gallery hours are 9 am to 8 pm. The reception is Saturday, November 7, 2 to 4 pm.

“What’s New?” is Studio Montclair’s Annual Members exhibition, on view June 1 through 30 at the Montclair Public Library. Participating Plum artists include Keira Boertzel-Smith, Vicki Reikes Fox, Miriam Jacobs, Maria Papale, Anne Sailer, Stefanie Silverman, and Susan van Inwegen. A reception will be held Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 9, with the annual SMI members meeting occurring at 7 pm. Stop by the library sometime and check out our new artwork!

HOMECorp Annual Fundraising Gift Show

Buy a present and make a donation to Montclair’s HOMECorp at the same time! HOMECorp is a great organization that creates and finds reasonably priced housing in town (a major feat!). The show features a variety of goods by Miriam Jacobs, Maria Papale, and other local artists and craftspeaple, who donate a portion of their proceeds to HOMECorp. The show is held at the home of Hilary Shank-Kuhl, 106 South Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. Show hours are Saturday, Dec. 6, 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, Dec. 7, 11 am to 5 pm. Miriam’s art, scarves, ties, and cards will be there both days, but she will be there on Sunday only. Maria’s wallpaper creations will be there Sunday only. Glen Ridge Holiday Artisan Gift Market

The event is located at Glen Ridge Congregational Church, 195 Ridgewood Avenue, at the corner of Ridgewood Avenue and Clark Street in Glen Ridge. Stop by for jewelry, fine art, vintage wallpaper creations, scarves, note cards, and other unique handmade gifts for the holidays, or maybe a special something for yourself! Refreshments will be available, and musicians from Parents Who Rock will perform between noon and 3:00.
