You’ll find Plum Artists Keira Boertzel-Smith, Miriam Jacobs, Maria Papale, and Stefanie Silverman at a booth at the Montclair Cooperative School’s Forest Street Festival on Saturday, June 5, from 9 to 6. The festival will be located on the corner of Forest and Chestnut Streets, around the block from the Farmer’s Market. In addition to our fine art, note cards, wallpaper creations, neckties, and other goods, you’ll find flea market and craft vendors, food and beverages, and live music. Raindate is June 12. An Art Show Inspired by Music

To celebrate Jazz Month in Montclair, Studio Montclair and the Montclair Jazz Project are presenting “Inspiriations,” a juried exhibit of artwork that has been directly inspired or influenced by either jazz or other music genres. Keira Boertzel-Smith and Stefanie Silverman are excited to have artwork in the show. Check out “Inspirations” through November 29 at the Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Avenue. Hours are Mon., Wed., Thurs. 10-9, Tues. 10-6, Fri. and Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5. The opening reception is November 8 from 2 to 4 pm, when you can also enjoy a jazz jam that will take place from 1 to 4:30.

“What’s New?” Studio Montclair’s Summer Salon

“What’s New?” is Studio Montclair’s Annual Members exhibition, on view June 1 through 30 at the Montclair Public Library. Participating Plum artists include Keira Boertzel-Smith, Vicki Reikes Fox, Miriam Jacobs, Maria Papale, Anne Sailer, Stefanie Silverman, and Susan van Inwegen. A reception will be held Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 9, with the annual SMI members meeting occurring at 7 pm. Stop by the library sometime and check out our new artwork!

Solo Exhibition by Keira Boertzel-Smith “The People I Have Seen. The People I Have Been.”

Keira Boertzel-Smith’s cut paper art scenes will be on display in a solo show at Studio Montclair’s Block Gallery during the month of May. “The People I Have Seen. The People I Have Been.” is a collection of whimsical people-centered pieces in which Keira has been an observer or acting participant. This collection of work is very personal to Keira, who views each piece in the collection as a page from her visual diary. Creating these pieces allowed her to emotionally process certain key moments in life that had deep meaning. The Block Gallery is located at the Clark House, 108 Orange Road, in Montclair. The gallery is open Tuesday through Thursday, 11 am to 3 pm, or by appointment. An opening reception will be held Saturday, May 2, from 4 to 7 pm. Holiday Shopping Fair at Montclair Cooperative School

The Montclair Co-op is having a Holiday Shopping Fair on Thursday, December 11, from 3 to 9 pm, and Keira Boertzel-Smith, Anne Sailer, and Stefanie Silverman will be there! A café and children’s play area will add to the wonderful shopping atmosphere. The Montclair Co-op is located at 65 Chestnut Street in Montclair.

Glen Ridge Holiday Artisan Gift Market

Keira Boertzel-Smith, Miriam Jacobs, Maria Papale, Anne Sailer, and Stefanie Silverman will be vendors at the Creative Women’s Collective holiday gift market on Saturday, December 6, from 10 am to 4 pm. The event is located at Glen Ridge Congregational Church, 195 Ridgewood Avenue, at the corner of Ridgewood Avenue and Clark Street in Glen Ridge. Stop by for jewelry, fine art, vintage wallpaper creations, scarves, note cards, and other unique handmade gifts for the holidays, or maybe a special something for yourself! Refreshments will be available, and musicians from Parents Who Rock will perform between noon and 3:00.

Keira’s Duck is now up for auction!

The duck that Keira Boertzel-Smith created for the Verona Chamber of Commerce’s “Ducks in a Row” event is now up for auction! Photos of Keira’s duck and all the others, as well as inormation about how to bid, can be found here. You can see Keira’s duck in person at Terry’s Family Pharmacy on Bloomfield Avenue. The auction ends December 9.
